Learning how to prevent ingrown hairs can save you from discomfort. What are ingrown hairs?Ingrown hairs happen when hair grows back into the skin instead of above the surface. This happens when you shave, wax, or pluck your hair. Ingrown pubic hair can be particularly uncomfortable due to the coarseness of the hair. Ingrown hair causes small round bumps called papules, and sometimes pus-filled bumps called pustules. Hyper-pigmentation, itching, and pain also occur around the area. We're okay with using them to wash our faces, hair, and each other, but using the hands to wash the body is different for some. Why is that?Our hands are just as capable of cleansing our entire bodies as anything else. We shouldn't be uncomfortable with using our hands to do something so natural. Your body belongs to you and there's no shame in using soap and your hands alone to remove dirt and toxins. While a facial cleansing brush can enhance your face cleansing steps, your hands are perfectly fine for the rest of your body.
